Episode 27: Wonder Woman, trailer for Justice League

Welcome to the 27th episode of The Leftover Popcorn Podcast! In this week’s episode we talk about Wonder Woman, and the trailer for Justice League.

Leftover Popcorn is a weekly podcast dedicated to the world of moving pictures. Co-hosts Adam McGee (that’s me) and Andrew Snyder share a passion for everything, both weird and wonderful, from the world of television and cinema, and as such we’ll be discussing an eclectic mix of topics in the weeks and months to come.

The podcast itself is built with a very simple structure, with the hosting duties shared, each episode is built around a mixture of three or four regular segments. The segments rotate from week to week leaving discussion open to new releases in film and or TV, classics from both the big and small screen, broader discussions on influential figures and their work, previews of upcoming releases, and more.

Anyway, that’s enough of an overview, let’s move on to what we have in store for you this week.

Warning: This podcast contains spoilers!

Running Order:

Intro: 0:00 – 02:17
Wonder Woman: 02:18 – 35:01
Wonder Woman (with spoilers): 35:02 – 1:05:16
Justice League (trailer): 1:05:17 – 1:21:16
Wrap-Up: 1:21:17 – End

Before you dive in and start listening, let’s take a closer look at the subjects of this week’s main segments.

Wonder Woman (2017) – Patty Jenkins

In what’s surprisingly the character’s standalone, big-screen debut, Gal Gadot stars as Wonder Woman in the latest entry in the expanded DC Universe. With director Patty Jenkins bringing a strong creative voice to the table, and stellar supporting turns from the likes of Chris Pine and David Thewlis; this isn’t your average superhero movie.

Justice League (2017) – Zack Snyder/Joss Whedon

Wonder Woman will be next scene in theaters later this year, alongside returning heroes Batman and Superman, along with some new friends, as DC and Warner Bros. take their first try at a superhero team-up in Justice League.

Be sure to return next week when we’ll back to talk about more film and/or TV.
